King's College Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse to join our Paediatric Emergency Department team. As a Junior Sister / Charge Nurse, you will play a key role in providing high-quality patient care and leading a team of nurses in a fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will have significant post-qualification experience in an Emergency Department and a strong clinical knowledge base. They will be confident in their ability to work in all areas of the Paediatric Emergency Department and possess excellent time management and communication skills.
Main Responsibilities- Take charge of shifts within the Paediatric Department and support the Band 7 team leader with management of the team.
- Participate in the teaching and supervision of junior staff and student nurses as required.
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients and relatives, and act as a positive role model to junior staff members.
- Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to provide evidence-based, holistic care to patients.
- Observe and maintain strict confidentiality of personal information relating to patients and staff.
- 1st level Registered Paediatric Nurse qualification.
- Mentorship programme or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Demonstrable clinical expertise relevant to the area.
- Excellent communication and team building skills.
