Environmental Compliance Specialist

About the Role
MacStaff is seeking an experienced Environmental Compliance Manager to join our team. As a key member of our environmental team, you will be responsible for managing environmental compliance for our Manchester project.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a phased implementation plan for our Global Environmental Compliance (GEC) program, prioritizing high-exposure jurisdictions based on site count and rental space.
- Conduct thorough environmental baseline assessments, including site-specific risk profiling and inventory of permits and licenses.
- Map the regulatory landscape for each jurisdiction, identifying applicable environmental requirements.
- Perform compliance gap analyses, develop corrective action plans, and implement necessary measures to ensure compliance.
- Establish and implement a compliance management system, including tools for tracking permits, deadlines, and corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver compliance training programs for site operation teams.
- Monitor and report on program performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Facilities, Corp. EHS&S, Legal, and regional EHS&S teams, to ensure program success.
- Collaborate with external consultants or legal counsel as needed for regulatory research or compliance support.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in environmental science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in environmental compliance, preferably in a multinational.
- Understanding of environmental regulations in either the UK or US.
- Good knowledge of risk assessment methodologies.
- Good project management skills, with experience in leading complex initiatives.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
- Knowledge of compliance management software and systems.
- Good knowledge of standards and best practices in environmental management.
