About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Composites Development Engineer to join our team at L3Harris Technologies. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for driving supplier development and ensuring the delivery of high-quality components.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have significant experience in procurement within an engineering/manufacturing biased industry, with a strong understanding of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA). You will be responsible for:

  1. Interface with Procurement, Project, Engineering & Quality teams to prioritise supplier development needs.
  2. Research external market information and entrepreneurial companies to identify potential sources and suppliers.
  3. Drive supplier selection through robust qualification processes.
  4. Assess new and existing supplier capabilities to meet product, cost, quality, capacity, and fulfilment requirements.
  5. Develop positive relationships with sourcing leaders to manage, implement, and track supplier/engineering, design changes, capacity studies, and New Product Introduction.
  6. Specify and develop product acceptance/test procedures that relate to a complex process.
  7. Provide technical expertise and leadership to sourcing and development of suppliers.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Significant previous experience of procurement within an engineering/manufacturing biased industry.
  • Unrestricted travel on an occasional basis.
  • Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, and FMEA.
  • Understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings.
