Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant to join our Respirology Team at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust.

This exciting opportunity is part of our efforts to enhance services in the North of the county, where there is a known health inequality and high stage lung cancer presentations.

The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team that provides comprehensive care to patients with pleural and lung cancer conditions.

The postholder will work closely with the Thoracic Surgical team to deliver a range of interventional bronchoscopy procedures, including rigid bronchoscopy, stenting, endobronchial valves and navigational bronchoscopy.

Additionally, the candidate will be involved in delivering care to patients with lung cancer, working closely with the Oncology team to implement the nationally recognised REDS cancer pathway.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist care to patients with pleural and lung cancer conditions
  • Work closely with the Thoracic Surgical team to deliver interventional bronchoscopy procedures
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical pathways for lung cancer care
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of treatment plans for patients
