Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced English teacher to take on the role of Raising Standards Leader for Literacy and Intervention at a rapidly improving secondary school in Southampton.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of literacy strategies to drive student achievement
  • Collaborate with the English department to deliver an engaging and aspirational curriculum
  • Support the school's leadership team in driving up standards of literacy across the school
  • Develop and deliver professional development opportunities for staff to improve their literacy skills
  • Work closely with the Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to deliver small group interventions and one-to-one tutoring for disadvantaged and vulnerable students
Requirements
  • Proven track record of achieving strong results in English at KS3/KS4
  • Experience in leading initiatives to drive student achievement in literacy
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills
  • Commitment to supporting students of all backgrounds to achieve their best outcomes
  • Ability to work within a supportive and ambitious department
