Key Responsibilities

As a Cornwall Heavy Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Repairing and maintaining heavy construction plant, including excavators, wheel loaders and bulldozers.
  • Inspecting and preparing machines for use, including fitting attachments and reversing cameras.
  • Carrying out major overhauls on engines, transmissions and hydraulics.
  • Ordering parts for repair jobs and returning unused items.
  • Diagnosing and problem-solving mechanical and hydraulic issues.

A salary of £40,000 - £50,000 per annum is available, depending on experience.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 5 years' relevant experience in the repair and maintenance of heavy construction plant.
  • NVQ or equivalent in engineering, mechanical, hydraulics or pneumatics.
  • Experience in maintaining heavy quarry, mining and construction equipment, LDVs and 4x4s.
  • Knowledge of diagnostic equipment and procedures, including laptop-based fault finding.
  • Elevated level of Health and Safety knowledge.
