Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic leadership and ownership of all aspects of the regulatory policy framework.
  • Lead and manage the professional standards team, driving collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Plan and manage internal and external stakeholder input into policy programmes, commissioning research as necessary.
  • Foster constructive relationships with Authorised Education Training Organisations, promoting a culture of mutual understanding.
  • Represent the organisation through speaking engagements and other external activities.
  • Manage multiple complex policy projects, leading on them, engaging stakeholders, and mitigating risk.
  • Apply expertise in a similar educational, training, or regulatory field, leveraging well-developed strategic thinking and analytical skills.
  • Lead on leadership and people performance management, driving organisational success.

Essential Criteria:

  • Degree or equivalent level of experience.
  • Proven experience in managing multiple complex policy projects, leading on them, engaging stakeholders, and managing risk.
  • Considerable experience in a similar educational, training, or regulatory field.
  • Well-developed strategic thinking and analytical skills, including the ability to source and interpret complex data.
  • Significant experience in leadership and people performance management.
  • Ability to provide inspirational leadership, championing the new team and embedding its work across the organisation.
  • Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing new processes and systems for efficient delivery.
  • Proven ability to develop innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, conveying information clearly and accurately, verbally and in writing, for a variety of audiences.
