Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher to join our team at The Aurora Group in Torton, Kidderminster. As part of our growth strategy, we have recently opened a new ASC/SEMH school, Wilden View School, which is an exciting opportunity for you to make your mark on our services.


The ideal candidate will have experience working with pupils with SEMH and/or ASC needs in a mainstream or specialist environment. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning to children and young people with complex or anxiety-related needs.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Contribute to the delivery and development of the curriculum, taking into account the educational, physical, and social needs of students within a learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Maintain and use short, medium, and long-term plans in delivering the curriculum.
  • Set, monitor, and review personalized targets to optimize learning for each individual.
  • Monitor, assess, review, and report on student progress to parents, team members, senior staff, examination bodies, and funding authorities through reports and identified meetings.
  • Maintain knowledge through training and research, taking responsibility for own professional development.
  • Analyze and reflect on lesson outcomes, developing plans accordingly.
  • Contribute to the review of Statements, EHC plans, PEP, and LAC reviews.

Required Skills and Qualifications:



  • PgCE, Qualified Teacher Status, or equivalent teaching qualification, accompanied by evidence of in-service training.
  • Experience working in a special school environment, particularly with pupils with SEMH or ASC needs, or significant SEND, SEMH, and/or ASC teaching experience within a mainstream environment.
  • Delivering up to GCSE level in your subject.
