About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading company in the egg industry as a Poultry Operative. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of our hens and maintaining the highest standards of egg production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the hens are living in optimal conditions and that the eggs are gathered, sorted, and packaged to the highest standards.
  • Perform maintenance and care of the free-range hens, their outdoor enclosures, and the collection, sorting, and packaging of eggs.
  • Retrieve eggs from the conveyor belt, organize and pack eggs into trays, and stack eggs onto pallets.
  • Maintain egg records and complete basic documentation, inspect and upkeep housing and outdoor enclosures, and regularly check on the hens in their sheds.
  • Allow hens access to their outdoor ranges, perform hen husbandry duties, and thoroughly clean egg storage areas.
  • Uphold hygiene and biosecurity protocols to ensure the health and safety of both humans and animals.
Requirements
  • Dependability, punctuality, and multitasking ability are essential qualities for this role.
  • While prior experience in agriculture is beneficial, comprehensive training will be provided.
  • A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and attention to detail are also required.
