Key Responsibilities:

As an Infrastructure Train Planner at Freightliner, you will be responsible for carrying out planning workloads efficiently and effectively to comply with network code and industry processes.

Your duties will include working within the wider planning team to ensure that the weekly train plan is implemented in a timely and efficient manner, liaising with industry contacts as necessary.

You will be required to examine Network Rail documentation and possession train orders, produce train crew diagrams making most efficient use of the driver resources, and liaise as necessary with industry partners and suppliers.

You will also be responsible for working with operations and rosters as required to ensure that all duties are carried out.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need a good knowledge of freight train operations with a sound knowledge of railway geography.

You will also require excellent planning skills, with the ability to produce diagrams for operational staff which are compliant with all internal and industry criteria.

A logical thinker with an analytical approach to problem solving is essential, as is the ability to work to strict deadlines.

You will also need highly developed numeracy skills and good computer skills, including the ability to use NROL (train planning software), TOPS/ TRUST and general office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Fundamental Competencies:

This role requires a clear communicator in both verbal and written, with the ability to work to standardised instructions and processes.

You must also be able to exhibit energy, enthusiasm and resilience to drive through outcomes, and be able to work collaboratively with team members and other departments.
