As a Highway Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality engineering projects and providing specialist services to enhance and maintain the road network.

About the Role

This role involves managing the design and delivery of highway-related construction and maintenance projects, including complex and significant schemes that meet quality, programme, and financial targets. You will also provide technical advice to clients, evaluate and authorise externally designed engineering schemes, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to achieve business objectives.

Requirements
  • A degree in Civil Engineering or a related subject, along with relevant experience or equivalent knowledge gained through practical experience.
  • Strong ICT skills, including proficiency in computer-aided design and data management environments.
  • Working knowledge of current highway and civil engineering design standards, contracts, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of health and safety, technical, traffic management, and other legislation applicable to highway and civil engineering construction and maintenance activities.
  • Experience in project implementation from feasibility to construction on site.
