Marketplace Strategist

Amazon is seeking a skilled Marketplace Strategist to join its Strategic Account Services (SAS) program. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of e-commerce and retail, with experience in sales, consulting, or procurement. The Marketplace Strategist will work closely with a group of Selling Partners to help them grow their business on Amazon, offering support on launching new programs, exploring Amazon's marketing tools, and advising on account strategy and selection listing.

The Marketplace Strategist will be responsible for developing and converting a sales pipeline using a highly consultative and data-driven approach. They will also onboard and build long-term relationships with key decision-makers within prospective accounts. Given the early stage of the program, the Marketplace Strategist will also be responsible for developing processes, tools, and content for this service.

The ideal candidate will be excellent at influencing external stakeholders, consulting, and account management skills. They will possess a track record of taking initiatives and using data and tools to drive business growth, implementing process improvements, and scaling up programs. They will be comfortable operating in an ambiguous environment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Create and articulate compelling value propositions around the SAS program and service offerings.
  2. Identify, qualify, and engage with prospective Selling Partners based on a clear understanding of our Selling Partners and their needs.
  3. Manage a portfolio of Selling Partners to drive individual strategies, manage timelines, expectations, and owning communications, leveraging a strong understanding of Amazon programs, tools, and processes.
  4. Produce profound business recommendations and actionable insights by using a wide set of analytical tools to interpret customer data and make recommendations in order to maximize the potential of the assigned Selling Partners.
  5. Implement and track metrics to measure success of the sellers in your portfolio. Use these metrics to guide your work and uncover hidden areas of opportunity.
  6. Prepare and present performance deep dives to facilitate regular discussions around business progress, current challenges, and strategic plans with your Selling Partners.
  7. Develop a thorough understanding of the competitive environment, including knowledge of complementary and/or competing product offerings.
  8. Lead additional projects such as conducting competitive analysis, developing content, inventing processes, and tools to the benefit of our internal and external stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. 3+ years of professional or military experience.
  2. Experience in procurement, negotiation, sales, consulting, supply chain, product/project management, or marketing.
  3. Experience within e-commerce or Retail fields.
  4. Experience in selling nascent products/services into new markets.
