About the Role

Join our team as an Accountancy Administrator and play a vital role in delivering an effective and efficient accountancy service to the Council and its Trading Company.

Job Description:

As an Accountancy Administrator, you will be responsible for:

  • Processing purchase invoices, matching purchase orders, and paying suppliers.
  • Reconciling monthly supplier statements.
  • Following up on unauthorized invoices and outstanding purchase orders not matched.
  • Monitoring incoming communications to the Finance Department and responding to supplier queries.
  • Setting up new supplier requests from budget holders.
  • Raising invoices for monthly subscriptions, periodic, and ad-hoc requests.
  • Sending reminders for outstanding invoices monthly.
  • Processing payment vouchers and refund requests.
  • Collecting direct debit payments.
  • Running daily/monthly payment reports and distributing to budget holders.
  • Working collaboratively with the Finance Department to achieve team goals.
  • Using the payments system to process transactions accurately and efficiently.

Requirements:

  • 4 GCSEs or equivalent (to include English and Mathematics) or relevant working experience within an Accounts Payable environment.
  • Good numeracy and administrative skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to prioritize and manage own work effectively.
