SEND Specialist Tutor

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Specialist Tutor to provide one-to-one tuition to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) who are unable to access mainstream education.

We are looking for a passionate and inspirational tutor to support students with SEN in the Axminster area. Many students with SEN have become disengaged with their learning, and we aim to provide a supportive and structured environment to help them re-engage and make progress.

As a SEND Specialist Tutor, you will be responsible for creating and delivering tailored lesson plans to bridge gaps in students' education and boost their attainment levels. You may be an experienced tutor or teacher, or have experience working with children in a therapeutic way.

Your key objectives will be to support and re-engage students in their learning, offer structure and routine, and continue their educational development. The tuition will replace school for these students and will typically take place during school hours, five days a week.

Type of work: Contract

Duration: Until the student is able to reintegrate into a mainstream/special school

Contract type: Temporary

Full-time/part-time: Part-time (a minimum of 6 hours per week, per student)

Minimum rate of pay: £27+ per hour

To be eligible for this role, you must:

• Hold the right to work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child-related references
