We are seeking an experienced Product Safety Engineer to join our team at Thales UK, based in Bristol, Reading or Crawley. As a key member of our central safety team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our products.

Job Overview

This senior-level position requires a strong understanding of System Safety Engineering principles and practices. You will be responsible for developing safety plans, leading system safety activities, and mentoring junior engineers. Your expertise will ensure that Thales products meet stringent safety standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing comprehensive safety plans and implementing them at project level
  • Applying Systems Safety Engineering principles to complex systems and mentoring junior engineers
  • Leading system safety activities, assessments, and risk management
  • Ensuring robust safety cases and evidence support Thales products
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to identify and manage hazards and risks
  • Undertaking system safety activities and assessments, leveraging your expertise to drive excellence

What We're Looking For

  • A minimum of [£65,000 - £80,000] salary package, depending on experience, with a strong pension contribution plan, private healthcare, bonus, and relocation support
  • Experience in Systems Safety Engineering, ideally in a regulated industry such as aerospace, defence, or nuclear
  • Demonstrable expertise in preparing Safety Cases and applying ALARP principles
  • Familiarity with System Fault Tree Analysis, Event Tree Analysis, Common Cause Failure Analysis, and other advanced safety techniques
  • An ability to work collaboratively in an engineering development environment, driving Systems Safety compliance throughout the project life cycle
