Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Management Specialist to join our team in London and Southeast region. The successful candidate will have higher education sector experience and be able to help deliver on our continued growth plans for the region.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost management, with experience in developing cost management approaches, agreeing fees, and managing costs post-contract. They will also have excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively work alongside other parties involved in the delivery of construction contracts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing cost management approaches to setting up pre-construction services contracts (PCSCs) for surveying and design deliverables
- Agreeing PCSA fees and managing costs post-contract
- Overseeing and supporting the preparation of bills of quantities for inclusion in NEC ECC Option B contracts
- Quantifying works in accordance with NRM 2
- Commercial review of contractor rates and pricing information
- Leading site-based re-measurement of actual quantities during the construction phase of NEC ECC Option B contracts
- Preparing monthly payment assessments recommendations for NEC ECC Option B contracts
- Assessing costs for compensation events and recommending to the project manager
- Agreeing commercial closure recommendations for contracts
- Providing estimating and cost planning activities
- Being a key interface with clients, stakeholders, and other consultants
Requirements:
- A degree in quantity surveying or cost management, along with previous experience in a cost consultancy practice in a similar role
- NEC cost management experience
- Cost planning, budgeting, and estimating experience
- Sound knowledge and ability to undertake and advise on contract administration
- Digitally savvy, with strong MS Excel skills
- Working towards MRICS
- Ability to effectively work alongside other parties involved in the delivery of construction contracts
What We Offer:
We offer a competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as opportunities for career development and progression.
