About the Role

The National Grid is undergoing a significant transformation, and we are seeking a Cyber Security Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our energy system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project and IT teams to provide security advice and guidance
  • Act as a trusted advisor for innovation projects, ensuring security is integrated into all aspects of our operations
  • Coordinate technical design and review activities with various segments within the security team
  • Identify, address, and resolve key risks and issues to ensure the security of our systems

About You

  • Proven understanding of IT services, including cloud and on-premises solutions
  • Strong knowledge of security principles and their application in an IT context
  • Understanding of security services, including malware defenses, network security, and risk management techniques
  • Experience in integrating IT services with security services, such as vulnerability scanning and SIEM
  • Knowledge of the Networks and Information Systems Regulations 2018 (NIS-R)
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Ability to operate independently and as part of a team
