Health and Safety Professional

The HSE Advisor is a key role within Elmdene Group, responsible for ensuring the health and safety of all employees across our sites. This includes providing support in compliance with legal requirements, as well as delivering training and understanding in areas such as chemical safety, LOTO, and manual handling.
Main Responsibilities:
- Supporting all HSE activities under the leadership of the HSE Manager.
- Auditing compliance with HSE procedures, including the shop floor.
- Managing the 'Save a Mate' initiative, promoting and training, collating suggestions and providing feedback.
- Coordinating Occupational Health surveys and medicals, toolbox talks, and regular H&S training, maintaining training records.
- Undertaking daily, weekly, and monthly site inspections and checks, identifying potential risks to health and implementing actions as required.
- Writing Risk, Manual Handling & COSHH Assessments as part of a site assessment team.
- Supporting continuous improvement for legal compliance and ISO 14001 & 45001 processes.
- Carrying out regular stock takes of PPE equipment and raising requests for items as required.
- Participating in monthly HSE meetings, compiling actions and distributing to senior team.
Person Specification:
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of Health & Safety experience, preferably with a chemical background. They should hold a NEBOSH general certificate or equivalent, and preferably be a tech or grad member of IOSH. Strong administrative and organizational skills are also essential, along with the ability to collect, sort, analyze, review, communicate, and present numerical and statistical analysis on HSE KPIs. Experience with MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Word, is also required.
Estimated Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
