About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diabetes Specialist Nurse to join our team at the Division of Surgery – BHRUT NHS. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide specialist care to adults with diabetes, working closely with patients, relatives, and healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist nursing care to adults with diabetes, including assessment, treatment, and education.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver a high-quality diabetes service, including the provision of nurse-led clinics and support to junior medical staff.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, relatives, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care and effective communication.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of diabetes care pathways and protocols, ensuring best practice and evidence-based care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits to drive excellence in patient care and outcomes.

Requirements

  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) level 1 qualification.
  • Relevant qualification applicable to diabetes care.
  • Education to degree level or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in audit and quality improvement initiatives.
