About the Role: Academics is seeking a Psychology Support Worker to join our team at a Mainstream Primary School in Croydon. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, particularly those with SEN, and be eager to develop their career in clinical psychology or related fields.

We are looking for someone with a strong interest in child psychology and the ability to build rapport with children, staff, and parents. The successful applicant will work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to provide support and strategies tailored to the needs of each child.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support for children with SEN, including those with autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and emotional/behavioral challenges.
  • Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and support strategies tailored to the needs of each child.
  • Observe and record children's behavior, progress, and emotional development, offering insights that contribute to interventions and care plans.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and other staff members to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support children during lessons, helping to modify tasks and provide additional resources where needed.

About You: We are looking for someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who can build rapport with children, staff, and parents. A relevant qualification or experience in psychology, education, or a related field (e.g., degree in psychology, childcare, or special educational needs) is essential.

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum
