About the Opportunity

Bitterne Park School seeks a dedicated and passionate individual to fill the position of Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for KS3 Engagement.

This internal opportunity offers a unique chance to drive student engagement and support the educational journey of our KS3 students.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans in collaboration with teachers.
  • Implement targeted interventions to address the diverse needs of KS3 learners.
  • Foster a love for learning by supporting students in building confidence and resilience.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to ILPs.
  • Build strong relationships with students, promoting positive behavior and academic success.
  • Organise extracurricular activities that enhance KS3 engagement and personal development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and improve support for students.
  • Maintain a productive learning environment, ensuring resources are prepared and accessible.

Estimated Salary: £28,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Requirements:

  • Current employment at Bitterne Park School.
  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational support role.
  • Understanding of the KS3 curriculum and effective strategies to engage learners.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially in connecting with students.
