Tribologist Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Tribologist to join our team at Muc-Off, a leading supplier of specialist cycling cleaning and maintenance products. As a Tribologist, you will be responsible for defining and delivering value from the field in pursuit of our performance mission.
Key Responsibilities- Design and run tests to measure the performance and wear of lubricants, coatings, and surface treatments.
- Manage complex data streams and construct timely and clear reports to drive the performance agenda.
- Condense large amounts of data from multiple performance and wear tests into concise reports.
- Adapt ASTM testing standards where possible and design and refurbishment management of test tokens used in tribology testing.
- Relevant PhD or research-based qualification in a relevant field.
- Experience of tribological testing of lubricants, coatings, and surface treatments.
- Experience of suitable data management techniques and sampling/down sampling requirements.
- Experience with statistical analysis and strong written and Excel skills.
- Experience of wear measurement and material surface analysis using white light interferometry (WLI).
- Lubricant formulation experience to advise formulators on observed wear and performance from testing.
- 33 days holiday, inclusive of UK bank holidays, increasing with length of service.
