Job Title: Aerospace & Defence Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled professional to join our Procurement, Contracts & Logistics Department as an Aerospace & Defence Manager. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing Materials Management and logistical expertise to support the North East Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust and our Fleet subsidiary company NEASUS.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage the day-to-day Inventory/Materials Management processes to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of logistical goods and services across the Trust.
  • Lead the Logistics team, including line management, absence and annual leave management, annual appraisals, staff development, and welfare issues.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Service and wider Department to explore improvement and innovation within the service, including personal development.

Candidates should possess excellent leadership skills and be educated to a minimum of NVQ Level 4 or equivalent in a relevant field (Logistics, Management/Materials Management/Warehouse Management).

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • IT Literacy with practical experience in Microsoft Office packages.
  • Educated to NVQ Level 4 or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g. Logistics, Materials Management).
  • Experience working within the field of Inventory/warehouse Management & Supply.
  • Evidence of previous staff supervisory/management responsibility.
  • Appropriate experience within a large multi-site organisation (based in the public or private sector).
  • Evidence of continuing professional training & development.
  • Working knowledge of Inventory Management systems and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of Ingenica 365 Inventory Management System (current Trust system).
  • An understanding of logistics and materials management and its application across an organisation.
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to undertake the practice of Logistics and Materials Management with little guidance or supervision.
  • Demonstrable experience of staff and team management, with a proven record of achievement and an ability to inspire and motivate staff.
