We are seeking a skilled Risk and Resilience Analyst to join our Retail Financial Modelling team at Nationwide. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the development and maintenance of our provisions (IFRS9) and forecasting models on all Unsecured portfolios (Credit Cards, Personal Loans and Current Accounts).

The ideal candidate will have a strong aptitude for coding and/or use of statistical tools, a logical and analytical mind with a passion for solving complex problems to a high standard, and some experience or evidence of an aptitude for modelling or analytics.

As a Risk and Resilience Analyst, you will work on a variety of technically demanding model development projects, analysing complex problems to provide recommendations and solutions, working on your own or as part of a wider team.

You will be employing relevant statistical and analytical techniques to develop and maintain our forecasting and IFRS9 models, sharing knowledge and expertise across the team, communicating the performance of models to the wider business, working with stakeholders from across the business, and contributing to the success and evolution of the team.

You'll need to write and run code in SAS (we'll teach you this part if you don't have experience of it) and other coding languages, to enable you and the team to produce the data required to identify key insights and build model features to enhance and develop our models.

You'll also be building relationships with team members and across the business to present your work and to ensure our models are understood and used optimally to benefit our customers and members.

About You

  • To demonstrate a strong aptitude for coding and/or use of statistical tools (this includes, but not limited to, SAS / SQL / python or similar)
  • To have a logical and analytical mind with a passion for solving complex problems to a high standard
  • Some experience or evidence of an aptitude for modelling or analytics
  • A strong numerate or data-related degree or the equivalent role-related experience
