Job Opportunity: Lecturer in Games Software Development

Glasgow Caledonian University is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Department of Applied Computer Games as a Lecturer in Games Software Development.

About the Role

The primary purpose of this appointment is to play a leading role in the delivery and management of selected Applied Computer Games programmes, which includes both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The role involves teaching core software development topics such as C#, C++, Artificial Intelligence, OpenGL, Unity, and Unreal Engine.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach software development topics to undergraduate and postgraduate students
  • Assist in the supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate research theses
  • Support MSc teaching and contribute to the growth and development of our teaching, research, consultancy, and knowledge transfer activities
  • Expand our external collaboration networks for both research and teaching
  • Contribute to new and enhanced curricula and taught provision in areas relevant to Applied Computer Games
Requirements

Candidates for this lecturer post should be educated to at least masters level, or to a bachelor's degree level and have a minimum of 3 years' relevant industry experience. A strong personal desire and commitment to engage in teaching and to contribute to research/consultancy is required.
