Job Title: System Engineer Specialist

Morson Talent is seeking a highly skilled System Engineer Specialist to join our team in Newcastle or Edinburgh. This is a challenging opportunity for a motivated professional looking to make a meaningful impact in the field of Systems and Safety Engineering.

Salary: £70 p/h Umbrella

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Systems and Safety Engineer to work on real-world problems, designing and developing innovative solutions that underpin our products. As a key member of our engineering department, you will conduct thorough safety assessments and provide project support on all safety-related matters.

You will utilize your safety analysis skills across the entire system lifecycle, from requirements analysis (including bids and contracting) to system integration, acceptance testing, delivery, and in-service support. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of safety analysis in a safety-critical industry on complex systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify hazards and investigate them using functional failure analyses and other techniques, implementing mitigations to reduce safety risks, and participating in design trade-offs to implement them.
  • Evidence your decisions using available data through fault tree analysis, scenario analysis, and other techniques.
  • Document and present the outcomes of safety analysis to stakeholders.
  • Generate safety requirements to meet customer and/or regulatory safety target requirements.
  • Collaborate with various engineering disciplines, customers, partners, and suppliers to solve complex problems.
  • Promote the specialism and Safety Culture within the project(s).
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of the Company Product Safety and Environmental Impact Management System.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of safety analysis in a safety-critical industry on complex systems.
  • Knowledge across multiple engineering lifecycle phases.
  • Experience in cross-industry safety initiatives, such as via the Institute of Engineering & Technology (IET) or Safety-Critical Systems Club (SCSC).
