At Hopwood Hall College, we're committed to fostering the next generation of engineering talent. As an Engineering Lecturer, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our students and the field of engineering as a whole.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach on a wide range of full and part-time courses, aligning with college and curriculum area specifications

• Contribute to the planning, monitoring, and evaluation of the curriculum in the school

• Prepare and mark assessments as required within the range of programmes timetabled

• Promote and participate in the delivery of Basic / Key Skills

• Be responsible for the continuous improvement in attendance, punctuality, retention, and achievement of students in designated teaching groups

• Produce full, considered, and timely reports and references on students

• Participate in student interviews, enrolment, and induction, open days, and other liaison activities

• Work co-operatively within a team and attend all team meetings

• Fully participate in the college's ILT strategy, including contributing to the upkeep of the sections' intranet site

• Adopt fully all curriculum initiatives adopted by the curriculum area

• Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of specialist areas

• Maintain current and appropriate resources for all course units taught, including Schemes of Work, Lesson Plans, and suitable teaching materials, ensuring differentiated learning opportunities are in place

• Contribute to the total learning experience of students within the curriculum area

• Ensure the application of Inclusive Learning in all areas of activity

• Ensure continuous development and improvement of professional knowledge

Qualifications, Specialist Knowledge, and Skills:

• Teaching Qualification or willingness to work towards

• Degree and/or relevant professional qualification, e.g., HNC/D

Specialist Knowledge:

• Comprehensive knowledge of the subject area

• Understanding of current educational initiatives

• Creative and innovative approach to the development of teaching materials

• Understanding of the college's ILT strategy and ability to contribute to its upkeep

IT Skills:

• Intermediate level of Microsoft applications, particularly Word and PowerPoint

• Willingness to undertake IT training relevant to the role

• Familiarity with using VLEs and E-Learning packages
