Job Title: Crime Duty Solicitor

Duncan Lewis Solicitors is a leading law firm that provides high-quality legal services to individuals and businesses. We are seeking a skilled Crime Duty Solicitor to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for handling a wide range of criminal defence cases, including bail applications, serious fraud, white-collar crime, murder, drug crime, and theft. They will also be required to liaise with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) and courts, prepare statements, and collate evidence.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the criminal justice system and be able to provide expert advice to clients. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.

The role will involve attending clients, taking instructions, and preparing cases, as well as dealing with correspondence and maintaining accurate time-costing procedures. The successful candidate will be a team player with a proactive approach, strong client care skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Handle a wide range of criminal defence cases, including bail applications, serious fraud, white-collar crime, murder, drug crime, and theft.
  • Liaise with the CPS and courts, prepare statements, and collate evidence.
  • Attend clients, take instructions, and prepare cases.
  • Deal with correspondence and maintain accurate time-costing procedures.
  • Work effectively with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of the criminal justice system.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Proactive approach, strong client care skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Higher rights of advocacy qualification an advantage.
  • Valid Practising Certificate at the time of applying.
