Career Opportunity: Section Engineer

The successful candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, with experience in highway schemes and a good understanding of the NEC form of contract. They will be responsible for progressing the construction process, assisting in delivering projects, and ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and environmental policies.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with site management to complete quality take-offs and develop awareness of potential commercial opportunities and issues.
  • Develop knowledge and ability in completing hazard/risk assessments and method statements, including alerting relevant personnel to control measures and work methods.
  • Carry out relevant inspections and testing to ensure conformance of the works with the design and specification.
  • Assist the QS/Project Manager with providing relevant information for records and claims purposes.

Requirements:

  • Good background in civil engineering schemes with experience at Section Engineer level.
  • Experience working with the NEC form of contract.
  • Structures and highways experience.
  • Computer literacy, including the use of CAD.
  • CSCS card in the appropriate discipline.
  • BSc/HND/HNC qualification.
