Professional Lines Underwriter
We are seeking a skilled Underwriter to join our North America Professional Lines team within Chubb Global Markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Underwrite new business and renewals in accordance with the business plan and within the assigned underwriting authority.
- Assist in formulating underwriting strategy, forecasts, and portfolio management to maintain underwriting profitability.
- Represent and promote Chubb corporately via maintaining relationships with customers, brokers, business partners, and colleagues to achieve business objectives.
- Contribute and participate in meetings to share and develop strategy, knowledge, and best practice.
- Meet company standards in respect of policy documentation, timeframe for quoting new and renewal business, and compliance issues.
- Work closely with Underwriting and Operations to drive improved operational efficiencies.
- Build and maintain a strong external reputation by behaving in a manner consistent with Chubb's core values and culture both internally and externally.
- Have a good understanding of class-specific underwriting and insurance knowledge.
- Be ACII qualified or working towards qualification and continue to develop technical and broader business skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and prioritize effectively.
- Have good knowledge of US legal and regulatory requirements.
- Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Have a collaborative mindset but with the ability to work on own initiative.
- Be driven, with high-energy, commitment, passion, and ambition.
