Medical Centre Receptionist

As a skilled and professional Receptionist at Becontree Medical Centre, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our team. Your primary responsibility will be to manage patient appointments, ensuring seamless communication and efficient appointment scheduling.
Main Duties:
- Greet patients and visitors warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression of our practice.
- Use our computerized appointment system to book, amend, and cancel patient appointments, maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
- Identify and prioritize urgent consultations, booking patients into suitable slots and referring them to a GP as needed.
- Accurately record requests for home visits, adhering to our practice protocols and printing home visit summary sheets as required.
- Maintain the computerized appointment system, ensuring it remains up-to-date and accurate.
- Respond to patient and visitor inquiries, redirecting calls and messages as necessary.
- Explain practice procedures and formal requirements to new patients and temporary residents, ensuring a smooth onboarding process.
- Set up new patients on our computer system, ensuring accurate and efficient registration.
- Process payments, issue receipts, and manage repeat prescriptions according to our practice procedures.
- Filing and data management: ensure correspondence, reports, and results are accurately filed electronically in patient records.
- Ensure reception and waiting areas remain tidy and organized, maintaining a welcoming environment for our patients.
- Answer incoming calls, documenting and redirecting as necessary, and undertake administrative tasks as allocated by the Receptionist Supervisor.
- Perform start and end of day procedures, ensuring a seamless transition between shifts.
