About the Role

Leeds City College is seeking a highly experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team. This is a part-time, reduced-year role, requiring 30 hours of work per week for 39 weeks of the year.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to students with special educational needs (SEN) in the classroom and during off-site visits.
  • Assist students with physical disabilities, including wheelchair users, and provide personal care as needed.
  • Contribute to the planning, preparation, and assessment of learning as part of the course team.
  • Provide in-class support to meet the needs of students with high needs.
  • Communicate with curriculum teachers, assessors, and the Learning Support team to ensure effective support for students with SEN.
  • Assist with emergency evacuation plans and practices, and participate in emergency evacuations as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of student progress and strategies used.
Requirements
  • Hold English and Mathematics qualifications at Level 2 or GCSE grade C/level 3 or above.
  • Have relevant experience and knowledge of working in the education sector, particularly in supporting students with SEN.
  • Be IT literate and possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
