Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Materials Handler to join our team at Smartsearch Recruitment. As a Materials Handler, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse by identifying materials requirements, delivering materials to work bays, and maintaining a well-stocked and orderly inventory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Materials Management: Identify materials requirements by speaking with operatives and deliver materials to work bays.
  • Inventory Control: Closely monitor the completion of units, and execute a quick change-over of units into work bays and paint shop.
  • Production Planning: Read production plans that outlines orders in which units will be worked upon and ensuring the associated work bay has all the required materials.
  • Warehouse Maintenance: Maintain a well-stocked and orderly inventory within the workshop.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate an electric pallet truck to carry out duties.
  • Housekeeping: Empty skips from work bays and clean units and fittings internally and externally.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a Materials Handler, Warehouse Operative, or similar role.
  • Skills: Ability to drive an electric pallet truck, knowledge of materials and tools, and good attitude and willingness to learn.
