NHS Scotland: Specialist Occupational Therapist Vacancy

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our North Lanarkshire Stroke & Neurological rehabilitation team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a highly motivated and innovative team, providing expert care to patients with stroke and neurological conditions.

About the Role:

This 0.8 WTE position is responsible for delivering high-quality occupational therapy services to patients across North Lanarkshire. The successful candidate will have excellent leadership skills, with experience in managing service delivery and motivating teams. They will also possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide specialist occupational therapy services to patients with stroke and neurological conditions
  • To lead the development and implementation of occupational therapy services, ensuring they meet the needs of patients and stakeholders
  • To manage and motivate a team of occupational therapists, ensuring they deliver high-quality services
  • To develop and maintain relationships with healthcare professionals, community groups, and other stakeholders
  • To participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the continuous development of occupational therapy services

Requirements:

  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, with postgraduate expertise in occupational therapy
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality
  • Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies, and procedures
  • Leadership skills, with experience in managing service delivery and motivating teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends

  • A competitive salary of £45,725 - £60,430 per annum, dependent on experience
