Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Maths Instructor to join our team at HMP Peterborough. As a Maths Instructor, you will play a vital role in helping prisoners achieve their functional skills qualification in English.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, and implement activities and courses to meet the educational needs of prisoners.
  • Monitor attendance, achievement, and progression of learning, while challenging negative behaviors and increasing prisoners' self-esteem.
  • Work with prisoners who have undiagnosed learning difficulties and neurodivergence, ensuring they feel empowered to learn.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A teaching qualification in the relevant subject area or experience in a teaching/tutor role.
  • An interest in the rehabilitation of offenders.
  • A flexible and responsive attitude.
  • Willingsness to innovate and demonstrate self-motivation.
