We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Analyst to join our Information Security team at The Open University UK. As a technical member of the team, you will play a crucial role in protecting the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of our information and information systems.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Senior Cyber Analyst during severe cyber incidents, coordinating with Incident Management and other third-party stakeholders.
- Contribute to threat hunts, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing as required.
- Present to various stakeholders about emerging threats to upskill and raise awareness across business units.
- Work closely with Information Rights and Information Technology colleagues to align breach and incident management into Cyber Incident Response Plans.
- Assist in the configuration of security systems and applications.
- Reduce cyber risk to tolerable levels as defined by the CISO by evidencing the completion of activities mapped to cyber risks.
- Attention to detail to spot trends in data.
- Good understanding of security concepts, and networking fundamentals.
- An understanding of Firewalls, XDR/EDR technologies, SIEMs/SOAR, Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance features.
- Ability to prioritise and manage your own work without supervision.
- Demonstratable contribution to security focused communities, or participation in security focused events, such as CTFs, forums.
- A-Levels, Diploma, or Degree in a technology related field.
- Demonstratable experience of providing or receiving mentorship within security, or technology related fields.
- Experience within Scripting and Query languages such as PowerShell and KQL.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and Security Tooling.
This role offers a hybrid working pattern, allowing you to work from home and the office. However, some attendance in the office will be required when necessary and in response to business needs.
