Māori Language Educator – Delivering Excellence

As a passionate advocate for indigenous tertiary education, our mission at Te Wānanga o Aotearoa is to empower tauira through quality education programmes underpinned by Māori culture and values. To achieve this, we're seeking a dedicated Kaiako who can deliver immersive language courses for adult learners.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and delivering engaging lessons in te reo Māori for diverse learner groups.
- Utilizing creative teaching methods to cater to various learning needs and abilities.
- Partnering with colleagues to develop and implement effective language programmes.
- Maintaining proficiency in te reo Māori and adapting teaching approaches to meet evolving learner needs.
To succeed in this role, you'll require:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Te Reo Māori (Level 7 or higher) or equivalent qualification.
- Diploma in Adult Teaching (Level 5) or equivalent.
- Full and current New Zealand Driver's License.
- At least 3 years' experience teaching adults in a Māori language context.
