Sanctuary Personnel Ltd, a reputable recruitment agency with an exceptional reputation, is currently seeking a dedicated Consultant in Respiratory & General Medicine to work in Whitehaven on a full-time basis.

The salary for this permanent position is estimated to be £105,504 - £139,882 per annum.

The Consultant will be responsible for various duties including out-patient and in-patient care, regular commitments to in-reach into the medical admissions unit and on-call for general medicine.

  1. Subject Lead Responsibilities: The successful candidate will work closely with academic leads and clinical colleagues to formulate and implement a plan for teaching delivery within Medical Sciences module, as well as related placements within Clinical Skills and Professional Practice module.
  2. Teaching Material Development: Using subject matter expertise, the Consultant will create high-quality teaching materials across various teaching modalities.
  3. Integration of Teaching Leads: The Consultant will collaborate with other teaching leads and development teams to ensure seamless integration of medical science, anatomy, and clinical skills and reasoning teaching within the subject.
  4. Assessment Development: Formative and summative assessments will be developed based on generated learning materials, aligned to and reflective of the questions students will encounter in relevant aspects of Medical Licensing Assessment.
  5. Quality Monitoring: Continuous monitoring, evaluation, and improvement of content and delivery quality are essential responsibilities.
  6. Collaboration with Local Education Providers: The Consultant will work with local education providers to ensure uniform experience across placements.
  7. Ongoing Contributions: Participation in admissions, tutoring, assessment, and feedback activities is expected from the Consultant.
  8. Feedback Review: Regular review and response to feedback from student surveys, staff-student committees, and external examiners is crucial.

Requirements:

  1. Full Registration with the General Medical Council.
  2. Completed Higher Specialist Training (CCT) in Geriatrics or equivalent competency.
