Research Associate

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Research Technician to join our team in the Department of Clinical and Biomedical Science at the University of Exeter.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will work in a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and scientists to facilitate and contribute to the provision of high-quality monogenic diabetes research projects. The key purpose of the post is to perform routine molecular techniques, including DNA and RNA isolation, DNA sequencing, and quantitative real-time PCR.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform routine molecular techniques, including DNA and RNA isolation, DNA sequencing, and quantitative real-time PCR.
- Ship and order samples and reagents, manage stock, and perform general laboratory administration.
- Design and implement new assays under the direction and supervision of appropriate members of staff.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in molecular biology and laboratory techniques, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
