**Job Title:** Tooling Technician

**Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Tooling Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our tooling equipment, ensuring that it is safe and functional at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Tooling Equipment: Ensure that all tooling equipment is in good working condition, and perform regular maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns.
  • Report Issues: Identify and report any issues with tooling equipment, and work with the team to resolve them promptly.
  • Carry Out Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on machine chests, seals, spray frames, and other equipment.
  • Communicate Concerns: Communicate any concerns about tooling equipment or machine condition to the team, and take appropriate action to address them.
  • Setup Machines: Set up machines and understand the process in full.
  • Complete Tool Fits: Complete tool fits and insert changes safely and to a high standard within the required timescales.
  • Complete Reasonable Requests: Complete any reasonable requests issued by the team leader, including but not limited to, break cover, tech duties, 5S, housekeeping, and repair work.
  • Carry Out Tool Maintenance: Carry out tool maintenance to schedule and repair and maintain tools.
  • Ensure Tools are Labelled and Stored Correctly: Ensure that all tools are labelled and stored correctly.
  • Complete Tool Overhauls and Services: Complete tool overhauls and services, including re-securing cavities, re-drilling and re-tapping damaged or stripped bolts, and adding core vents.
  • Conduct Monthly Stock Checks: Conduct monthly stock checks and advise of any shortages.
  • Assist with Training: Assist with training in tool prep when required.
  • Complete Tooling Report Sheet: Complete the tooling report sheet and place it in the report tray for the tool supervisor every time you experience any issues or have recommended improvements.
  • Follow 5S Procedures: Follow 5S procedures at the start and during your shift.
  • Complete Major Improvement Projects: Complete one major improvement project and assist with general improvements.
  • Follow Production Plan: Follow the production plan daily for tool fit times and the order in which to complete the preps in.
  • Complete Combi-Lift Checks: Complete combi-lift checks.

Hours of Work:
