About the Role

We are seeking a Behaviour Mentor to join our dedicated team of staff at an Outstanding mainstream Secondary School in London. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with learners between the age of 11-16 who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and often display challenging behaviour.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide regular feedback to the SENCO and outside agencies about student difficulties and progress.
  • Work 1:1 with learners who require targeted support.
  • Identify barriers to learning and find ways to overcome them to engage students.
  • Be confident to manage challenging behaviour.
  • Understand behaviour as a form of communication.
  • Support the emotional and social development of students, reporting any concerns to the Tutor or Safeguarding Lead.
  • Support staff with planning teaching and learning sessions, including preparing resources and setting up the environment ready for sessions.
