Clinical Nurse Specialist Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Cancer Nursing Team in the private sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a caseload of patients diagnosed with and having treatment for Hepatobiliary and Upper Gastrointestinal Cancer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Consultant medical staff, ward/departmental staff, and other CNSs to provide seamless evidence-based holistic pathway of care for all patients referred into the service.
  • Coordinate patient care, conduct holistic needs assessments, and support inpatients and outpatients within the speciality.
  • Develop and implement patient education programs to enhance patient awareness and understanding of their condition.
  • Lead and influence staff to deliver high-quality patient care.

Requirements:

  • Advanced clinical and leadership skills in the speciality.
  • Proven listening and counselling skills with the ability to manage complex situations and deliver sensitive outcomes.
  • Evidence of teaching skills, particularly in teaching patients how to manage their conditions.
  • Ability to clinically lead and influence staff.
  • Able to use skills of history taking and physical assessment to direct patient care.

Qualifications and Training:

  • RGN, NMC registered with PIN.
  • BSC/1st degree (health-related) or equivalent qualification/training and experience.
  • Post-registration qualification in the appropriate area of speciality or equivalent post-qualification experience.
  • 2 years plus Oncology/Haematology Nursing experience.
