Job Opportunity

Category Officer - Kent (Hybrid) - £32,000 - £42,000 (depending on experience)

We are seeking a skilled Category Officer to join our team at Wemention. The successful candidate will report to the Facilities Management Category Manager, supporting the procurement and mobilization of new FM contracts in line with the Public Contract Regulations 2015 and the Procurement Act.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with contract management and supplier relationship management
  • Support the Category Manager in developing new approaches to procurement strategy and analysis
  • Support the design and promotion of local strategies to maximize partnership opportunities across the Public Sector
  • Provide support and advice on Procurement Service Orders relating to all aspects of the procurement process

Essential Skills:

  • Experience working in a similar role with proven savings and efficiency outcomes
  • Proven experience working within the Facilities Management category
  • Knowledge and commercial experience of the Public Contract Regulations 2015 and the Procurement Act 2023
  • Knowledge of the Purchase to Pay process/lifecycle
  • In job experience in applying supplier and contract management processes
  • Excellent data analysis and gathering skills
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Ability to network and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Beneficial Skills:

  • Knowledge of JCT contract suite
  • NEC 3/4 contract suite experience - preferably professional services
  • Knowledge of CAFM systems (Computer Awareness Facilities Management)
  • Experience of the government Find to Tender service
  • Keen to work towards achieving CIPS membership (funded by the employer)
