About the Role

A mathematical client-facing position that combines technical expertise with excellent communication skills.

We are seeking a Product Analyst to join our team, who has a numerate background and experience working with clients. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of mathematical concepts and be able to effectively communicate them to stakeholders.

The role involves working with advanced optimisation tools for portfolio management in the energy sector. As a Product Analyst, you will be responsible for showcasing the modelling software to clients, gaining an in-depth understanding of their needs, and assisting them in reaping the benefits of the product.

This may involve preparing reference or training materials, answering technical inquiries, or helping to develop useful new features. In the future, there could also be opportunities to take on project or product management duties, or to be involved with business development.

The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, including a degree (2.1 or above preferred) in maths or a similar numerate subject. They will also need to demonstrate impressive analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to propose and test hypotheses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain mathematical models using Excel and possibly Python or Java
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to clients and stakeholders
  • Work systematically to identify root issues among intricate models
  • Prepare reference or training materials to support client adoption

Requirements:

  • Full existing rights to work in the UK without time limit
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, evidenced by previous client-facing experience
  • Demonstrable skills modelling in Excel and possibly familiarity with Python or Java
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to propose and test hypotheses
