Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a well-motivated and enthusiastic senior biomedical scientist to support the development of UKAS accredited South of Tyne Clinical Pathology Services Biochemistry Department.

Main Responsibilities
  • To contribute to the provision of the biochemistry service across three hospital sites: Gateshead, Sunderland, and South Tyneside.
  • To rotate across all laboratory sites and participate in the department's shift pattern.

The successful candidate must be committed to quality and improvement and possess the following qualities:

  • An innovative, forward-looking approach.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Sound technical knowledge.
  • The necessary experience to undertake the challenging role.
Requirements
  • BSc in Biomedical Sciences or equivalent qualification.
  • Post Graduate Diploma or working towards MSc.
  • Minimum 3 years post graduate specialist training with modern laboratory techniques and good knowledge of current professional issues.
  • NHS biochemistry laboratory experience.
  • Experience of highly specialized techniques.

Estimated salary range: £38,694 - £44,688 per annum, depending on experience.
