Job Title: Laboratory Manager

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Laboratory Manager to join our team at McGregor Springfield. As a Laboratory Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our National Laboratory, ensuring the smooth operation of our quality control testing processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of Laboratory Technicians, providing training and development opportunities, and ensuring the effective execution of daily testing schedules.
  • Communicate with Plant Managers to obtain samples and coordinate testing schedules, ensuring timely completion of daily workloads.
  • Review test results, identify trends, and implement corrective actions to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Monitor and address complaints and non-conformities, ensuring prompt resolution and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and manage the Laboratory budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and optimal performance.
  • Promote a culture of high standards and housekeeping within the Laboratory, ensuring a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Inspect and maintain testing apparatus, ensuring calibration and optimal performance.
  • Liaise with Sales and Production departments, providing technical support and expertise to drive business growth.
  • Research and develop new raw materials, products, and construction systems, staying ahead of industry trends and customer needs.
  • Maintain CE mark testing for relevant products, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support the Technical Manager in driving business proposals and projects, leveraging Laboratory expertise to drive growth and innovation.
Requirements:
  • A well-organized approach and a willingness to excel in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong people management skills, with experience in managing a team of Laboratory Technicians.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Plant Managers, Sales, and Production departments.
  • Knowledge of quality control testing processes and procedures.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement corrective actions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects.
