About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Lakenham Surgery. As a key member of our primary care team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage individual patient consultations, assessing and diagnosing a wide range of health care conditions, ordering investigations, and planning and providing treatment as needed.
  • Work directly and independently with patients, diagnosing, initiating and concluding treatment, including prescribing within appropriate professional scope and competencies.
  • Use SystmOne and Ardens Templates for recording of consultations and clinical administration, demonstrating good practice in clinical note making.
  • Adhere to the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) Code of Professional Conduct and be familiar with The Scope of Professional Practice and other NMC advisory papers.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Nurse Practitioner qualification (including MSc)
  • Independent & Supplementary Prescriber qualifications
  • Registration with NHSBSA as a Prescriber
  • Eligibility to work as a Nurse in the UK and with UK current work permit if required
  • English language skills sufficient to enable positive and effective verbal and written communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues
  • RGN with current NMC registration
  • Ability to work as part of Enhanced Access service provision

Desirable

  • Experience in the management of Long Term Conditions such as Diabetes, Asthma, COPD, Hypertension & CHD
  • Familiarity with a wide range of nursing procedures
