The Compliance Business Risk and Process Improvement Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring the company's compliance with laws, regulations, and policy requirements. This seasoned professional requires in-depth knowledge of disciplinary areas and contributes to the development of new techniques and improvement of processes and workflow. They integrate subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area, requiring an understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business.

This role involves evaluating moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. The Compliance Business Risk and Process Improvement Analyst must possess good analytical skills to filter, prioritize, and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are also required, as this role assumes informal/formal leadership roles within teams and involves coaching and training of new recruits.

Responsibilities include:

  • Participating from inception through implementation in cross-functional or cross-business issues designed to ensure business compliance with laws, regulations, and policy requirements across key/complex risk levels.
  • Utilizing Issue Management processes and project management methodology from the initiation, planning, control requirements, execution, and closing phases of each issue; end results may include improved productivity, technology, processes, cost savings, and controls.
  • Maintaining regular engagement with Senior Business Level Officers, Legal, Risk, and Compliance regarding complex matters.
  • Initiating and developing relationships with others throughout the business unit and the company to identify and understand business needs.
  • Implementing solutions to improve effectiveness and results.
  • Ensuring a culture of accountability, integrity, and respect.
  • Working on issues/projects as assigned to support improvements.
  • Identifying and analyzing escalated problems and providing guidance for resolution.
  • Negotiating solutions and acting as a liaison with internal and external clients.
  • Monitoring, researching, and evaluating technological advances in the industry to identify appropriate alternatives for enhancing current department operations.
  • Evaluating cost/benefits, making recommendations, developing, and overseeing implementation plans.
  • Providing judgment based on analysis of factual information in complicated and unique situations.
  • Directly impacting the area through shared responsibility for delivery of end results.
  • Implementing and developing controls to prevent risk within specialized business.
  • Analyzing and identifying risk and performing analytical reporting.
  • Acting as a consultant to the businesses regarding processes & controls.
  • Driving corrective actions.
  • Providing support to business activity owners and Third Party Risk and Control functions.
  • Coordinating and assisting with onsite reviews.
  • Completion of compliance documentation and onboarding activities relevant to compliance due diligence.

This role is responsible for coordinating cross-functional initiatives and ensuring that projects are implemented effectively. The successful candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly. Experience in creating and implementing processes that result in improved business performance is essential.
