Job Title: Band 7 Clinical Services Manager

We are seeking an experienced senior nurse to lead the development and operational delivery of family-centred care at Noah's Ark Children's Hospice. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping the Clinical Services Team, ensuring the highest possible standards of care for referred babies, children, young people, and their families.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Operational delivery of family-centred care, ensuring the highest standards of care for referred babies, children, young people, and their families.
  • Support the team in providing clinical and holistic care support to babies, children, and young people with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and their families.
  • Lead the development of clinical services, including In House, Community, and Play Services, supporting the leadership, management, development, and transformation of Clinical Services.
Requirements:
  • Registered Sick Children's Nurse or Registered Nurse (Child Branch)
  • BSc level study or equivalent experience
  • Formal management leadership training or equivalent experience
  • Teaching qualification e.g. Mentorship, SSSA or equivalent
  • Experience in supporting students on placement as a practice supervisor or practice assessor
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of NMC Quality Assurance processes relating to education and NMC fitness to practice processes
  • Significant relevant post-qualification experience at staff nurse band 6 level
  • A minimum of three years experience of children with life-limiting, life-threatening, or complex medical needs
  • Experience in recruitment, selection, and retention
  • Experience of challenging poor practice
  • Ability to plan and deliver clinical training opportunities to registered and non-registered colleagues
  • Able to assess, develop, implement, deliver, and evaluate programmes of care across the range of the hospice setting in house and community
  • Competent IT skills e.g. Microsoft packages, e-mail, electronic patient records, and electronic rostering
  • Experience of supporting BCYP at end of life and care after death, including symptom management
  • Involvement in facilitating simulation for teaching of clinical skills
  • Previous experience working with children with tracheostomies and/or requiring long-term ventilation
  • Experience with intravenous and subcutaneous infusion therapies

  • Positive approach to work with the ability to work a variety of shift patterns to include nights, evenings, and weekends and working flexibly across the Hospice, community, ICB, and HEI settings
