About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Mental Health Assistant Practitioner to join our team at Norfolk & Suffolk Foundation NHS Trust. As an Assistant Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing therapeutic support to individuals with mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with running groups with a range of disciplines, including therapeutic interventions and joint assessments.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and take responsibility for your own work.
  • Work closely with the NSFT mental health in-reach team, IAPT/Wellbeing team, and other services to provide comprehensive care.
  • Develop and deliver training to prison staff on therapeutic interventions and mental health conditions.
Requirements
  • Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care or mental health, or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience working with service users with mental health needs, including those with complex needs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, problem-solve, and work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Understanding of mental health issues, risk assessment, and CPA processes.
